In the regional decision, the opponents were too strong

The young players from the frankenwald grammar school in competition class III/1 put up a good fight, but still didn’t stand a chance in the end: that’s how the regional decision in volleyball turned out from the point of view of the young players. In the end there were two clear defeats against the meranier-gymnasium lichtenfels and the coburg ernestinum-gymnasium, which finally became deserved regional champion with a clear final victory over the lichtenfels girls and thus got the ticket for the upcoming district decision.

Unopposed district champion

The G had won the district competition without a fight, because no other team from kronach had entered the competition. At the beginning of the regional competition, the girls, who were supervised by sports teacher petra hopp, were presented with the district champion shirts by mareike jung, representing the sparkasse kulmbach-kronach. The award ceremony for the new regional champion from coburg was taken over by marco friedrich as manager of the working group sport in schools and clubs, who thanked the G and its principal harald weichert for hosting the tournament.

Turnverein dettelbach becomes 150

The gymnastics club dettelbach celebrates its 150th anniversary on two weekends. A ceremony last friday opened the celebrations. From next friday follows a sport and celebration weekend.

TV dettelbach looks back on a long, eventful and successful past. In the wake of the german gymnastics festival in coburg in 1860, the gymnastics club was founded two years later on the 5th of august. April 1862 young men who like to move founded the gymnastics club dettelbach. In the beginning the association had 37 members, today it has 783 members. Only one year later the young club bought a flag for 103 gulden and 36 kreuzer. This flag still exists today and is the oldest club flag in northern bavaria. It was restored a few years ago and since then rests in a glass case in the town hall. The bavarian office for the preservation of historical monuments included the flag in the list of movable monuments.

Vestenbergsgreuthers earn sports badge for the first time

The premiere was a success, and a repeat event with an expanded range of activities is already planned: this year, for the first time, TSV vestenbergsgreuth, in cooperation with FC frimmersdorf, offered children and young people the opportunity to earn the german sports badge.

In july, 14 children between the ages of seven and 13 competed on the TSV sports field and tried hard in short and long distance running, long jump and long throw to achieve a good result. Swimming had to be proved by the seahorse or bronze badge. TSV has a certified auditor in walter ferbar, and much to the delight of chairman robert hermann, many parents and grandparents also helped out on the day of the audition. For 2019 it is planned that also families can take the examinations for the sport badge.

Course set for success

The low point seems to have been overcome. The privileged guardian society, the oldest association in sonnefeld, which was founded 465 years ago, has stopped the loss of members, is again cultivating social life and can look back on a training life with increasing performances in the guardian sport. With the confirmation of dieter hummel in the office of the guardian, the members at the general meeting in the association's own guardian house set the course for the continuation of the successful course. This was confirmed by hans georg rebhahn (marktzeuln) in his greeting at the beginning of the not everyday round of honors. The third gauschutzenmeister (district guardian) praised the work of gerhard barth, who has been active and successful from young to senior guardian. Barth was two-time sonnefeld guardian king and was active in the guardian and the guardian leadership. In 2004 he was appointed honorary member. Under applause of the members the protectorate badge donated by duke franz of bavaria was pinned on him.
For almost six decades front dieter hummel the pushing sport in sonnefeld. He acted as a flag-bearer, twice wore the royal chain of the society, stood six times as a knight on the guardian festival stage. Appointed honorary member in 2007, he took the helm as schutzenmeister in 2014. Rebhahn: "he could not allow his privileged to be left to an uncertain future". Hummel's initiative was recognized by the DSB/BSSB with the award of the german protectorate badge, donated by andreas prinz von sachsen, coburg und gotha. Further certificates and honorary pins were awarded to dieter braasch for 60 years of membership, wolfgang herr for 50 years, susanne ramster for 25 years and the janitor team petra and michael scheler. Mayor michael keilich expressed his appreciation and thanks to the responsible persons of the guardian society. He considered the high awards as a reward for his life's work. Dieter hummel was elected as guardian, hanne hummel as second treasurer, monika berghold as secretary; committee members are jutta koch, petra scheler, michael scheler and thomas angermuller.
