County wines: love at first sip

"Animating, full-bodied and highly elegant" are the characteristics of the new county wines, which were presented to the public on thursday in the winzerkeller sommerach. District administrator tamara bischof and her deputy paul streng presented the three precious grape juices in bocksbeutel and bottle: weibburgunder kabinett trocken 2017 (sommeracher katzenkopf), silvaner spatlese trocken 2017 (sommeracher katzenkopf) and spatburgunder qualitatswein trocken 2016 (familiengewachs). At anniversaries and receptions of the district, the selected wines, which this year come from the winzerkeller sommerach, will be used as prasente, food companion and mood lifter.
The presentation in the winery was also attended by sommerach's new wine princess magdalena sauer and mayor elmar henke. As host, the managing director of the winzerkeller eg frank dietrich buried the kreischefin and her companions. "Only the best from our cellars," was how dietrich described the wines selected by master cellarer stefan gerhard and his team. The experienced onologist had put in a lot of effort, according to dietrich. 90 winemaking families from sommerach are proud to be able to present the kitzingen county wine for a year.
District administrator tamara bischof recalled an "excellent wine tasting" in the run-up to the presentation together with the representatives of the parliamentary groups of the district council and cellarmaster gerhard. During the blind tasting of the wines a high quality could be determined. The selection of the three county wines was not easy. The democratic decision was made in a "merry" circle.
Competent and cheerful, wine consultant paul streng described the three county wines. He attested the weibburgunder an excellent balance between fruit and acidity.
The silvaner as a signboard of the wine district entices with delicate flower after yellow, ripe fruit. The spatburgunder shows that the grapes have seen a lot of sunshine. His humorous conclusion: "love at first sip".
